    The 2 acres of copyhold land were purchased by Robert Smith in 1769, who by will left them to his wife Lydia (née Allen) and then to her niece Susanna or in default, nephew John. In fact Susanna and John both died during Lydia’s lifetime and John’s elder brother Thomas was admitted to the premises after Lydia’s death.
