- Scope and ContentThis Deponent Arthur Grace on his Oath saith as follows: I reside at Park Square Luton and I’m a confectioner. Last Saturday the 14 inst I was standing at my shop front at about 5.10 pm. I saw Prisoner cut the socks produced from the shop front of Mr. Darvill, Drapes. Who carries on business next door. I seized Prisoner and took him into Mr. Darvill shop and left him in charge of Mr Darvill. This Deponent Richard Henry Darvill of 16 Park Square Luton saith as follows: The last witness brought Prisoner into my shop about 5.10 pm on the 14th inst, and told me that he (Prisoner) had cut the socks produced from my shop front. I gave Prisoner into custody for the theft. I identify the socks produced as being my property by my private mark and I value them at 3/8 This Deponent Walter James Hagley of Luton Borough Police in the said Borough of Luton saith as follows:-On Saturday last the 14th inst at about 5.15 pm from information received I went to the shop of the last witness and found Prisoner detained there. Mr Darvill gave the Prisoner into custody for stealing a quantity of socks. I took Prisoner to the Police Office and charged him. Prisoner replied “All right mate” Statement of Accused: “I have nothing to say”
