George Knowles Green was devisee in fee of his grandfather George Knowles , see above) (vendors) 2) Nathan Medcraft of Westoning, gentleman (purchaser) ¼ share of above. Consideration £125 paid by 2) to 1) 2 and 3 Dec 1783 iii) Fine 1) Nathan Medcroft, John Page alias Jefferys (plaintiffs) 2) John Green and Elizabeth his wife, Daniel Ellingham and Ann his wife, Edward Hannell and Mary his wife (deforciants) 1 cottage, 1 garden, 1 orchard, ¼ share of 4 cottages, 4 gardens, 4 orchards, 25 acres of land, 5 acres of meadow, 5 acres of pasture, common of pasture for all cattle in Stanbridge, in Leighton Buzzard, and Maulden, and Clophill Hilary 24 George III b) Deeds covenanted to be produced by Ezra Eagles to the Duke of Bedford 1) Conveyance in Trust with Covenant to levy Fine i) Ezra Eagles of Ampthill, gentleman and Sarah his wife (nèe Medcraft, daughter of Nathan, granddaughter of Richard and Ann (nèe Linford, one of Nathan Linford’s daughters), also heiress of brother John Medcraft, who died intestate. Both he and grandfather Richard were described as of Westoning, gentlemen) ii) John Gregory of Eversholt, only son and heir John Gregory, late of same, deceased iii) Bartholomew Churchill Carter of Staple Inn, London, gentleman (trustee) Recites Elizabeth Linford severed her joint tenancy so far as her ¼th. recites deaths of Mary Burr and Ruth Linford do not sever joint tenancies therefore Ann Medcraft entitled to 3 undivided 4th parts of the property left by will of Nathan Linford. Ann Medcraft dies intestate and the 3 undivided 4th parts descend to her only son and heir at law Nathan Medcraft. Ann had not “incumbered” the same. Reference to Will of Richard Medcraft, husband of Ann. John Medcraft son reaches 21 and dies on 27 March 1797, leaves Sarah Eagles, his sister and heir at law surviving him. Maulden Enclosure Award awarded 2 roods 5 perches in lieu of common rights etc. to William Wainwright, John Medcraft and Mary Gregory for frontage of cottage occupied by Francis Read. ... Cottage or tenement wherein Nathan Linford formerly dwelt at Maulden with 2 closes or pightles .... And lot of plot of ground (2 roods 25 perches) allotted under Enclosure Award .... And 3 cottages with ground and premises at Clophill, formerly in occupation of John Prior, John Radley, and Henry Carey and then of – Sanders and John Radley and their undertenants theretofore the estate of the above named Nathan Linford, the testator deceased, who devised it to his wife for her life and after his decease to his 3 daughters etc. except 22 acres and 22 perches at Maulden and which had been sold to John Kempson 21 and 22 Jun 1799 2) Fine i) Bartholomew Churchill Carter plaintiff ii)Ezra Eagles and Sarah his wife, deforciants Property not described Trinity 39 George III Papermark 1806
