... Devises to wife Sarah, the cottage in Ampthill in which he dwells, for life; and then to eldest son Robert; and also 4 cottages in Cowfair in Ampthill, for life; and then to children Elizabeth, Sarah and Edward Dennis. To son Edward, his cottage and lands in Maulden (purchased of George Haines and wife Anne). And to the youngest son William, his farm and lands in Cowfair End in Ampthill (purchased of Richard Ward, clerk, and wife Francis). Guardians of children, if wife dies : James Betts of Maulden, schoolmaster, and Abraham Perrin of Clophill, innholder.
