- Scope and Content...Devises to daughter Mary, his dwelling house called Granhams House, and Cock Yard, Barn Close, Walnut Tree Close, and Well Close; (purchased of Gregory Cooke); and Little Hill Close and Great Hill Close, and a house (purchased of Richard Gurney); on condition that she provides his sister Gregory with wood. To daughter Sarah, his closes called Symons, Old Orchard and Little Ley (exchanged with Ambrose Reddall), the house which Thomas Perry rents from him, the house in which William Axem lives, and a close called Whitsend Close alias Late Haulls Close and a pightle (purchased from Edward Jones). To son John, his Hill Closes at Potters End, the house and premises which William Butcher holds, and the premises whichThomas Marshall rents (purchased of Thomas Deacon). To daughter Elizabeth Gregory, the house, orchard and closes (purchased of John Butcher of Eversholt), and also Calves Close and meadow and Forge Field, all adjoining each other. Bequeaths £100 to niece Elizabeth Hose, and rest of lands and personal estate to wife Mary (executrix). Witnesses: Thomas Marshall and William Axeam Codicil: to son John, in lieu of aforementioned property, all his property in Eversholt (purchased of Mrs Cressey, widow, and Mr Edwards, carrier).
