- Scope and ContentWilliam Bond of Turvey, labourer, came before Mr Charles Higgins JP and informed him on oath that he believed that Thomas Renolds of Harrold had sent a challenge to fight to Frederick Bond of Carlton his brother. Bond believed that Frederick Bond had accepted the challenge from Renolds and they intended to meet next Monday in the parish of Carlton to fight with their fists. Bond also believed that various ill disposed persons did aid, abet and encourage Renolds and Frederick Bond to fight, and that money was to be given to them both accord to the result of the fight, by which the King’s Peace and the lives of Renolds and Frederick Bond were endangered.
