- Scope and ContentIncluding undated letter from L R Pym re Housing Act above. “The time has now been extended and the Act is still in force”. “We should take some steps to do some work under this Act, particularly if there is a possibility of questions being raised under the new Housing Act”. “Old cottage we went into the other day would be a proper subject and there must be a good many cottages which could also be very much improved, and if we get the benefit of this Act, at no very great cost.” Undated Copy of Housing (Rural Workers) Act 1926 Copy of letter from L R Pym to Cecil Argles; “I am sorry to hear that your Committee did not unofficially view the project with approbation. I feel very strongly myself that it is very important that these old cottages should be restored wherever possible, and not allowed to fall into decay. To my mind they are such a very important part of England and I have had a hand in repairing and saving a great many”. House at Tetworth been lived in by agricultural labourer for years – got him out with difficulty to have work done.
