Photograph of a series of 8 paintings: most are of women. The first is of a woman reading a book with her hand to her head, the next is of a woman laying face down, the third is of a woman playing an instrument (recorder?) while sitting in a chair, the next is of a girl kneeled down looking at an object. The next shows a woman outside, the next shows two women walking with a baby in a carriage. The seventh picture shows a tree in the middle of a graveyard and the last shows people gathered at Bedford market.

The material was used as the basis for Richard Smart's book on the history of the Bedford Training College and the Physical Education College.
