Snapshot of a group of 15 girls dressed in costume for a pageant or other event. The costumes consist of dark shorts[?] and light tops with multi-pointed collar around the neck and shoulders and felt hats. Most carry staffs or have daggers at their waist and in the centre one of the participants appears to be wearing a dressing gown.

The material was used as the basis for Richard Smart's book on the history of the Bedford Training College and the Physical Education College.
