    Dear Mr Evans, I saw Mary she spent the day with me last Friday she and her brother’s wife and child sends all her love to Sally she will send her gown to Betsys she will be very glad to see Sally this summer her duty to her father and you. I am very sorry to have to say that Thomas left us last Monday week. I rote to you because I thought if I rote to Mr Paxton it might lay at the Post office some days and I thought you would try to send it immediately as we did not find out until this morning what had become of Thomas but he is now at Chatham entered as Marines to go aboard a ship if he is not got off quickly he cannot therefore if Mr Paxton has a wish to give him a trial my husband says if he goes to Lawyer Days to get his Indentures and prays Mr Day to see that they are made for seven years to bring them up to London. My husband go to Chatham with Mr Paxton and the sooner the better. Your friend E House. Dear Mr Evans my troubles I think come very fast this has caused me a great uneasiness as I respect Thomas next to my own dear child is a poor creature indeed my dear Mothers affliction all together are very heavy upon me. Please to tell my dear Mother my brother would be glad if she can buy him a dozen pound of honey reasonable don’t tell her about Thomas. Mrs House no.1 Florace Street near the Nene Road, London.
