    Annie Skillington: the wife of George Skillington of Luton. On the 24th September she was looking to employ a servant. The prisoner came to her as a servant and was employed on the 30th September. On the 4th October the prisoner came and asked for some coals. The prisoner went to fetch them but did not return. She went into her bedroom and found her cash box missing. She remembered seeing the cash box about 3pm. She was also missing 2 skirts, a pair of stockings and 2 chemises. William Chamberlain: a detective sergeant of Luton. On 12th October he went to Linslade police station where he found the prisoner wearing the stolen apparel and a cash box. He took the prisoner to Luton police station and charged her with stealing the wearing apparel and cash box along with its contents. The prisoner replied that she wished she had not done it.
