    Apprenticeship Indenture: Thomas Day son of John Day of Stony Stratford, auctioneer by and with the consent of his said father doth put himself apprentice to Grey Jermain Cooper of Leighton Buzzard, linen and woollen draper. To serve from the date hereof for a term of seven years or until the apprentice shall arrive at the age of twenty one years.. The said Grey Jermain Cooper doth covenant grant and agree to and with the said John Day his executors and administrators that he the said Grey Jermain Cooper for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Two pounds ten shillings to him in hand paid by the said John Day the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged his said apprentice in the art of a linen and woollen draper which he useth by the best means that he can shall teach and instruct or cause to be taught and instructed finding unto the said apprentice sufficient meat drink and lodging during the said term. And the said John Day for himself and his executors and administrators doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Grey Jermain Cooper that he the said John Day his executors and administrators shall and will find the said apprentice clothes, washing, mending and all other necessaries during the said term. 1 November 1810.
