Declaration by John Usher, Bedford, architect and surveyor, aged 50. Joseph Usher was his uncle and he knew him and his wife, Mary, formerly Mary Frood, of The Orchard, Blunham. They had one son by said marriage - Frederick William Usher, who was born on 25 June 1840, and who now resides at 15, Edith Road, St. Mary's, Peckham. Joseph and Mary were married at Manchester. Joseph died on 12 November 1868 and was buried at Blunham. He died intestate and letters of administration were granted to Frederick William Usher. Mary died on 27 July 1872 and was buried at Chevening, Kent. Said Frederick William Usher is the same person as in a mortgage deed between J T Crosher and W R Smith, said Frederick William Usher and George Smith, which deed is 'now already prepared'.
