    By deed of 7 April 1879 a) John Waller, Ashwell, Herts, farmer and beerseller b) Thomas Veasey, Baldock, Esq after reciting deed of 5 Dec 1874 1) John Waller 2) Thomas Veasey by which freehold and copyhold property was granted to 2) to secure repayment of £200 plus interest. This was paid off on 19 December 1877 but no reconveyance of the property was made. 1) by deed of 7 Apr 1879 declared that freehold should remain vested in 2) to secure repayment of £150 which should be a charge on the property in lieu of said £250. By deed of 7 Aug 1879 between same 2 parties, property was charged with repayment of further £100. Copyhold property was surrendered by 1) to 2) to secure repayment. 2) died on 26 Aug 1880. Will, dated 4 Sept 1877, by which wife, Catherine Anna Veasey - ii) , appointed sole executrix. Said will contained no devise of estates vested in him as mortgagee, and he died intestate as to such estate, leaving his brother, i) , as heir-at-law. Will proved (PPR) on 21 Sept 1880. John Waller made his will dated 9 May 1876 and appointed his wife, Mary Waller, George Porter and James Shepherd as executors and trustees to sell his estates at Blunham and to hold proceeds in trust. He died on 29 May 1888. Now in consideration of £50 paid to ii) in full satisfaction of all principal and interest due to her (i.e. £250 plus interest), i) ii) and iii) convey to iv): - cottage in Blunham, many years since converted into 4 separate tenements and formerly used and occupied as the parish workhouse but recently occupied as private dwellings in occupation of William Daniels, John Kay, George Watts and George Thomas, north (part) roadside wasteland, north (part) brook, east and south copyhold land hereafter described, west public road. - piece pasture or meadow (1 acre 1 rood 29 poles) in Tinhams Common, north 1st freehold allotment awarded on the enclosure to John Foster, east Lord of the Manor (old enclosure), south 4th allotment awarded to Lady of the Manor on the enclosure, west public road and freehold property before described. Said copyhold premises are now in occupation of William aniels, and to which John Waller, deceased, was admitted tenant at Court on 3 Nov 1876. Signatures i) - iii). Witnesses.
