    Ann Williamson: the accused had been lodging at their house for about a month. He left on the previous Sunday and after he had gone she missed a pair of trousers from a dark box in the bedroom where he had slept. The value of them was 5 shillings. Thomas Walkman: he resided in Sandy. On the Saturday night the accused came into the public house in Sandy where he was. The prisoner asked if anyone wanted to buy a pair of trousers as he wanted to gets something to eat. He bought the trousers for 4 shillings. He gave them up to Sergeant Beach. Sergeant William Beach: he went to Sandy and received the trousers. He apprehended the prisoner Offord Cluny in Huntingdonshire. The prisoner said he knew nothing of the charge. On being searched the prisoner said “it is no use telling any more stories about it. I stole the trowsers on Saturdays and I sold them Saturday night in a public house at Sansy”.
