- Scope and Contentto daughter Mary Cage a feather bed and bedstead, 4 feather pillows, 1 feather bolster, 4 blankets and a coverlet, a set of curtains and curtain rods, 3 kettles, a skillet, 8 pewter dishes, 1 dozen pewter plates, 4 porringers. a pint pot, 1 dozen pewter spoons, 12 pairs sheets, 6 pairs pillow beers, 1 dozen napkins, 1 long table-cloth and a table-cloth board, an oval table, 2 suits of child-bed linen, 2 mantles (1 half silk, the other dimity), 4 flannel blankets, 2 little table cloths, 10 towels, 15 shifts, a parcel of linen in a box that was her aunt’s to be kept for her till age 16, a silver seal, her father’s piece of gold, a silver thimble, a silver spoon, 2 window curtains, a warming-pan, a pillion and cloth, a grate to burn coals in, a chest, coffer, trunk, 2 boxes, and £45 in money (a codicil says after funeral charges and the charge of putting her apprentice); “I would have all my woollen clothes sold, except one coat to make my daughter a gown”; residue; her guardians are to be her father Thomas Skilliter and brother Thomas Skilliter, and Henry Richardson of Clifton, who are to take care of her money and bind her out apprentice; she is to have the money at age 21 “if she takes good courses” but otherwise not till 24”; if she dies, bequests go to testator’s brother Thomas Skilleter, paying £6 to brother John Skilliter and £5 to brother John Cage, and to the prospective children of Charles Woods and Elizabeth Cage £5; executrix daughter Mary, with Nathaniel Hooker of Sandy; Witnesses: Elizabeth Hooker, Ann Gurnes (mark), Robert Fennell, (to codicil) and Frances Ward (mark) Endorsed: “It was given as part of the title to Blain’s estate, but don’t appear to have any relation whatever to it”
