    Copy will of John Abbot the elder of Flitwick, farmer: - directing all debts, expenses and legacies to be paid out of his personal estate; - devising all real estate in Pulloxhill and Harlington to his sons John and Jonathan as tenants in common; - directing John and Jonathan Abbot to raise £350 from his personal estate to pay a legacy of £50 to his daughter Beatrice, wife of John Gibbons, a legacy of £150 to his daughter Mary, wife of George Godfrey and to stand possessed of the remaining £150 upon trust to pay dividends or interest to the testator’s daughter-in-law Elizabeth, widow of his son Thomas for her life, on her death the principal to be divided between Thomas Abbot’s children when they became 21 if sons or married or became 21 if daughters applying the income to maintain any of the children during their minority, if no children survived their mother the principal to sink into the testator’s residue personal estate; - bequeathing household goods, furniture, live and dead farming stock, capital and utensils equally between John and Jonathan but charged with payment of debts and the sum of £350; - appointing John and Jonathan Abbot as his executors; - witnessed by J. Eagles of Ampthill, solicitor and R. Whitmore of Ampthill, his clerk; - note of proof in the Archdeaconry Court of Bedford on 15 April 1847
