    Thomas Sharp: he living in Gravel Lane in the parish of St Paul and was an earthenware dealer. The prisoner had been in his employment on and off for about 12 months. The prisoner came into his service on 7 December and was employed to take earthenware goods and to sell them. The prisoner took some goods to sell on 7 December and did not account for them. When he had been in his employment before, the prisoner had taken out a basket of goods and brought back the money on the same night. Sarah Arnold: wife of George Arnold, a beer house keeper of Wilshamstead. On 7 December the prisoner slept at their house and she bought a soap dish off him for sixpence. The following morning she bought 2 meals dishes from him and she supposed the goods belonged to him. He told her he lived in Gravel Lane in Bedford. Thomas Barker: about a fortnight previous the prisoner offered him some earthenware for sale. He gave the prisoner a silk scarf in exchange for 3 dishes. He believed the prisoner’s goods were his own. Statement of the accused: Mr Sharp trusted him with some goods. He was not employed by Mr Sharp and had no wages.
