    Mary Knowlton of Leighton Buzzard (widow of John Knowlton, surgeon) & John Knight Knowlton of Southwark (county of Surrey), apothecary (elder son & heir of John Knowlton), to Edward Ashwell of Leighton Buzzard, esquire (only son & administrator of Robert Ashwell, esquire). Part of a capital messuage on South side of the Great Street, the great orchard contaiing 2 acres & the great barn (late in the occupation of Thomas Shotbolt, then of William Harrison, gentleman, then of John Knowlton, all deceased, now of Edmund Stubbee); the courtyard on East on which a shop is now built, the messuage in the occupation of Charles Pyne, gentleman, on East, & that late of Honourable Charles Leigh & now of Lady Barbara Leigh, widow, formerly called the "Black Boy", now in the occupation of William Wingrove, on West, fronting North on High Street; with its vaults, dovehouses, etc.; all purchased by John Knowlton of John Shotbolf of Leighton Buzzard, tanner, late in the occupation of John Knowlton, Arthur Tarsey senior & Richard Crawley, now of Edmund Stubbe, & William Wingrove. (Recites (A) Covenant 1732, to stand seized to uses as to this property: (i) said John Knowlton & wife Mary; (ii) John Knight of Ridgmont, yeoman, & Benjamin Green of Ampthill, draper (trustees); (B) Will of John Knowlton, 1735, devizing said capital messuage to B. Green & Benjamin Bevan of Beckerings Park (trustees for wife & son). Witnesses: Potts., Davies, Richard Atkins., Thomas Baskerfield, Daniel Richards.
