Joseph Pain by will dated 29 October 1858, appointed wife Mary, John Odell of Bedford, and i) as executors and devised to John Odell and ii) a close called Corn Close, a kitchen garden, blacksmith’s shop and all his lands etc., to hold in trust for wife during her life and then for sale. Joseph Pain died on 9 January 1860
