During the 1940s & 1950s the Manns lived at 147 New Bedford Road. John Donald Thomas Mann worked at Vauxhall Motors. He was a parish councillor for Streatley and Councillor for Luton Rural District Council between 1858 – 1961.
Stella Norah Mann was a milliner for several hat suppliers in central Luton.

Endorsed with Borough of Luton Magistrates Court fine of £5 for exceeding the speed limit on a restricted road 21 October 1963. Includes loose notice of intended prosecution issued by Bedfordshire Constabulary for vehicle reg.WTM346 radar speed noted as 42mph. Also includes Royal Automobile Club certificate showing JDT Mann as qualified to drive all motor vehicles signed by A R Neale, dated 24 August 1965. 24 August 1965
