The Visiting Justices have regularly visited and inspected the prison during the Quarter ending 25th March last. Martha Saunderson, a warder on the female side of the prison having resigned her situation, the Visiting Justices are taking steps to fill up the vacancy. The Visiting Justices haveing received from Mr Roberts the Governor an application for an increase in salary, and having satisfied themselves that the Governors of almost all other prisons with which this can properly be compared...recommend that Mr Roberts be allowed fuel, light ahnd £25 a year in lieu of washing.
