- Scope and ContentGeorge Watson: on 24 September he had been at Luton statute and as he had been going down Church Street, against the Wheat Sheaf public house, the prisoner caught hold of him and put her arm about him. He had some money in his trouser pocket in a purse. It contained 2 shillings and a 2 shillings piece and some pence. He felt the prisoners hand in his trouser pocket. He told her she was picking his pocket and on putting his hand in her pocket he found his purse and money gone. He was sure the prisoner was the person and he kept hold of her until the police came. PC William Brimley: he received the prisoner into custody on the charge of picking a pocket. She denied the charge and on searching her he found neither the purse or money. Statement of the accused: he was not guilty.
