- Scope and ContentReciting memorandum of agreement between parties of 29 September 1843 in which it is said that at a public auction on 11 August 1840 ii) were joint purchasers of freehold cottages and land in Offa Street and Bury Lane in Bedford St Peter forming Lots 5, 7, and 8, a small portion of which they afterwards exchanged and they also gave up some to widen Wellington Street and they have since erected in the place of the cottages on Lots 7 and 8, eight messuages fronting Offa Street and two cottages fronting Bury Lane, and have converted two cottages on Lot 5 into a chapel, and in order to do this they have borrowed £650 from i) and £2400 from Messrs Leech and Brett which are charged on the properties and have contracted other debts and interest not paid amounting in all to £981..7s..2d, which i) has taken on himself to discharge etc.
