- Scope and Content1) Prison has been regularly visited during the past Quarter. 2) Elizabeth Lovell has been appointed a female warden in the place of Elizabeth Roberts resigned, subject to the approval of the Court. 3) Two Middlesex convicts have died during the Quarter, one of whom [George Garrard] committed suicide in his cell. Coroner's inquests were held as is usual in all such cases - no blame is attributable to the prison officers in the case last referred to. 4) Repairs required to the exterior of the prison. 5) Chapel needs better ventilation. 6) Rating of houses adjacent to the prison. 7) The VIsiting Justices consider it thier duty to suggest to the County Coroner that in their opinion he was the proper person to hold inqusts [in the prison] and not the Borough Coroner.
