Bedfordshire Midsummer Sessions 1861. Report on prisoners in custody. Gives numbers committed for trial, convicted, summarily convicted, class of crime. Comments by the Prison Governor Robert Evan Roberts:

From: 1861 To: 1861

Richard Sabey and Jabez Francis convicted at the last Borough Sessions, and James Sibley convicted at the last County Sessions have been removed to the convict prison Parkhurst. Edward Clifford convicted and sentenced to penal servitude has been removed to Millbank by order of the Secretary of State. James William Pressey convicted of felony at March Assizes 1860 and sentenced to 18 calendar months, received a free pardon and was discharged from custody 31st May last.
