- Scope and ContentGeorge Peter Livius. Continued from QGR5/503: He [Thomas Reed] was out for ten minutes and talking to the woman all the time. The Gaoler was necessarily absent all the time attending to his father in law who is dying. The Governor placed the prisoner in the refractory cell until bed time. He was then taken to his night cell. He was kept in his cell until Divine service when he was taken to chapel. His conduct was very improper, he was after service taken back to his night cell and remained there until this morning. During the service in the chapel today he hallooed as loud as he could and sang songs and kicked the doors and prevented the service proceeding. In consequence he was rmoved to the refractory where he now is - and he has been making a great noise there until the last two hours. His mind is in a sound state. The prisoner was called in and sentenced to be kept in his cell until Friday next. The SUrgeon reports that a prisoner John Odell suffers from the coldness of the cell - and orders him to be removed to tyhe infirmary. None of the night cells are glazed and in this damp changeable weather the effect of cold is prevalent.
