- Scope and ContentGeorge P Livius, Charles Gillies Paynes, Samuel Charles Whitbread. Rev. W Russell one of the Inspectors of Prisoners was present. [continued from QGR5/367] It has been the custom when a prisoner has been unwell in the Infirmary that one of the prisoners should attend as nurse. In the present case a prisoner of the name of Kelly was appointed for this purpose - it appears he has had extra diet in consequence viz a pint of beer and a meat dinner daily for the last four days and that by order of the Surgeon. This appears contrary to the prison rules. It is now ordered that a nurse be provided - viz John Crump, the Assistant in the gaol and that the prisoner Kelly be placed in the day room allotted toconvicted prisoners, with the diet allowed to prisoners in his circumstance.
