    i) Samuel Reeve, Leighton Buzzard, common brewer ii) John Grant; John Dollin Bassett; Peter John Bassett, Leighton Buzzard, bankers iii) William Exton, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, banker Joseph Sharples, Hitchin, banker iv) John Dollin Bassett; William Exton; Samuel Reeve (executors of Peter Bassett, late of Leighton Buzzard, banker) v) Edmund Sear, late of Westoning and now of Herne, Toddington, farmer vi) John Eagles, Ampthill, gentleman the banking partnership of John Grant, William Exton, Joseph Sharples and John Dollin Bassett (entered into for 7 years) came to an end on 1 January 1827 and it was agreed that there should be a division of the partnership. Herne Farm etc was allotted to John Grant and J D Bassett as part of their share. John Grant and J D Bassett entered into partnership together, and are now joined by P J Bassett under name of Bassett, Grant and Bassett. Peter Bassett died on 18 September 1821. Will dated 3 July 1816 by which he appointed iv) as his executors. Will proved 6 March 1822 in PCC. Now in consideration of £3800 paid to ii) by v) i) by direction of ii) and with assent of iii) and iv) release to v) -Herne Farm, Toddington -land as in Z455/16 but with slightly different acreages -small pieces of spinney ground not previously described containing 28 poles, 20 poles, 11 poles and 1 pole (total - 136 acres 14 Poles, previously 136 acres 2 rods 22 poles) all situate on west side of Herne Lane in Toddington and late in occupance of Mr John Stopp to hold subject to the yearly rent charge of £80 3s and subject to annuity of £80 3s to Thomas Gilpin, by way of indemnity, as he has purchased the other part of the premises subject to said rent charge vi) to be trustee for v) if necessary signatures all endorsed receipt signatures Arthur Ashfield, solicitor, Leighton Buzzard Thomas Stratford, solicitors clerk Willaim Braund and Richard Braund (clerks to Messrs Sharples)
