7 December: George Cardale, Thomas Barber, Thomas Charles Higgins 40 male prisoners, 5 female prisoners. All prisoners well except for Mary Carr {Farr} . 21 December Thomas Charles Higgins, Frederick H Neve. The Matron of the Gaol mentions the distressing cases for two sisters Sarah Whittimore & Charlotte Hare, who if their tales prove true, have been driven to commit crime by the bad example and compulsion of their mother, the Matron urges the [?] of some arrangement being made, in order to prevent them returning home after they shall leave the prison.. This attention on the part of the Matron is very creditable to her. 41 male prisoners 5 female prisoners.
