Benjamin Tunn saith: 'I am servant to Mr Whithead at the Swan Inn at Sharnbrook. About ten days ago a prisoner was brought to my master's house, Robert Toll, he was placed in the room adjoining to mine. I was called up by mr Maxwell, a contractor on the Railway about ten minutes before 3 o'clock. I could not find my clothes, which i had left the night before on the side of my bed. About 5 o'clock that morning the prisoner was brought in in custody by Serjeant Green, and I saw that the prisoner had my clothes on - he had got my trousers & braces, and jaket and shoes. The trousers contained my purse with 18s 2d in it and in the other pocket was a halfpenny a farthing a little knife and a comb. I have had nothing given up to me since. The things now produced by Serjeant Green are mine.' William Green saith: 'On the evening of Friday the 19th I took the prisoner Robert Toll to the Swan public house at Sharbrook where I left him. I heard about three o'clock the next morning that he had made his escape & I took him again at Pavenham. when I took him, he was wearing the trousers shoes braces and jacket which I now produce and which have been identified as the property of Benjamin Tunn...'
