On 28 May the prisoner came to the shop and said he had come from the butler at Stockwood for 3 pairs of brown cotton hose about 18 pence a pair. He asked him the butlers name and the prisoner said George Grove. He let him have the hose in consequence of him saying it was for the butler. He asked him if he had an order but the prisoner said the butler had just sent him. Daniel Douglas Wills: he was the butler at Stockwood.
