- Scope and ContentJabez Bunce: servant to Mr Benning, solicitor of Dunstable. He took care of the garden. There had been a thermometer in the greenhouse on the night of 24 May. On 27 May PC Cuttriss showed him a thermometer which he knew to be his master’s property. He then went to look in greenhouse and found the thermometer gone. PC Jeremiah Cuttriss: he searched the prisoner when he took him into custody on 26 May. He found a thermometer in his possession. The prisoner said a man had given it to him to sell. Statement of the accused: nothing.
