Whereas Matthew Waldeck and Richard Woodfield of Wootton on 5 January 1726/7 confessed to keeping unlicensed alehouses in their dwellings at Wootton, on the information of Roger Favell, William Bass and John Hempson of Wootton, given on 24th December 1725.

To be fined 20s each and the money distributed among the parish poor; if the money not paid in three days their goods and chattels to be sold. If not worth 20s then to be publicly whipped at midday. In default the Constables and Churchwardens liable to imprisonment or 40s fine
