The Wards were inspected and the convicts in the Old House of Correction seemed to be sulky on account of the privation of tobacco and of the former indulgences allowed to be brought by friends or purchased by the private resources of prisoners. Ordered that Frederick Swinson, William Hyde and he four prisoners under exchequer process be confined in the ward appropriated to female debtors as long as there shall be no female debtor, as it is feared that Frederick Swinson and William Hyde (being two young lads) are likely to be corrupted by continuing amongst the older prisoners charged with aggravated felonies.
