- Scope and ContentGeorge P Livius. Visited the Gaol at the request of the Gaoler who reported that four prisoners viz William Juffs & Joseph Brightman who were committed on a charge of burglary, Ezekiel Wallis [Wallace] committed on a charge of house breaking and Thomas [Gaol database records as James] Lankin for arson had this morning attempted to escape out of custody. Wallis and Lankin had scaled the paling of the yard. Ordered that the Gaoler be allowed a watchman until Monday next, when he is directed to bring the whole circumstances of the case before the Visiting Justices then assembled.
