- Scope and ContentGeorge Cardale. The Gaoler represents that Samuel and Francis Colgrave & John Brown ought to be punished for the offence as charged before the visiting magistrates last week, it is ordered that it be taken into consideration at the next monthly meeting. The following commuted sentences have been forwarded to the gaoler: Thomas Cobb convicted at the last Assizes of highway robbery sentence of death recorded to be transported for life. Samuel Jepps for the same offence to be transported for life. Edward Southorn for horse stealing to be transported for life. William Allen otherwise called William Holland for sheep stealing to be transported for 14 years. Richard Kempson for sheep stealing to be transported for 14 years. Joseph Kitely convicted of larceny at the last Spring Assizes, and sentence to be declared on the opinion of 12 judges, is sentenced to be transported for 7 years.
