- Scope and Content"If I have in this case done amiss or neglected my duty I am extremely sorry, and trust that you will take it into your kind consideration my long services, the ill state of health of my wife and that I have 2 children improvided for, that if I loose my situation I do not know what will become of us all, as it has not being in my power, having to provide for an aged father and mother whom I have lately buried, to lay up a single shilling. Therefore Genglemen I throw myself on your mercy, and if you will kindly give me another trial, I will do everything in my power to give you all satisfacton. And if you require it I will find bondsmen for the performance of my duty".
