    Eliza Thompson of Marston Moretaine, lacemaker – she is a single person living at Marston with her father and mother and gets her living making lace. Yester morning (11 April) she missed some lace off her pillow. Elizabeth Adkins works at their house making lace. Nobody else works there and she suspected Adkins had stolen it as nobody else had been in the house. Her mother sent for the policeman. She thinks there was about 4 yards of lace on her pillow. She can swear the lace produced by the policeman and the card on which it is wound are hers. Henry Lovell, police constable – he was called yesterday to search for the lace. He went to Adkins’ sister’s hosue where she lives. He began to search the house. Adkins told her sister where the lace was and her sister fetched it. Elizabeth Adkins – she has nothing to say.
