    Details given: -- The Black Swan Inn, Shefford, late in the occupation of William Barber, afterwards Thomas Kent, late John Seeley, now Samuel Billin; -- a cottage and malthouse now made into a wheeler's shop, near said Inn; late William Barber now James Bailey; -- an orchard, 1 acre, near said Inn; -- a close near the wooden bridge in Shefford, 2 acres; both the last in the occupation of Samuel Billin; -- Warren close, 8 acres, in St Mary's parish, Bedford, and 2 closes called the Middle Ground and Paradice, 7 acres, adjoining, heretofore in the occupation of Edward Wales, late John Purser, now Henry Whittingstall and James Whittingstall and William Long. To be divided into 4 parts: Henry Whittingstall, James Whittingstall, William Long, Edward Waller (in trust for William Long). Recites: 5 June 1689. Mortgage (Black Swan etc, Shefford): (i) William Barber of Shefford, yeoman, and wife Ann (ii) Francis Brace of Bedford, gentleman (iii) Richard Lambert of Pavenham, yeoman. Richard Lambert's estate became absolute in law. 15 September 1791. Assignment to Edward Jackson in trust for Henry Whittingstall. 7 January 1709. Mortgage (Warren close etc, Bedford): (i) Felix Boulstrod of Shefford (ii) Thomas Janeway of Bedford, gentleman. 1 October 1709. Felix Boulstrod to Francis Bourne of Hertfordshire. 20 April 1710. Felix Boulstrod to John Hobbs of Hertfordshire. Premises have since become legally vested in Henry and James Whittingstall and William Long.
