Air mail letter. Date illegible. Very fragile condition. Addressed to 4 Trinity Road, Luton. Sebbie Darling, What a beautiful letter. I am very proud of you now and I love you and Mummy very much. Darling, you forgot to put your name on the bottom of the letter, but I knew it was from you because of the very good writing!! I told you all about the little fish, how it escaped into the water, I cannot call it swishy. But tomorrow I will try and catch it again and tell it what you say. Are you sure you can read my letters because if you can you are a very clever girl. If the war is over by Christmas, darling, and I can come home to you and mummy I will buy you a dolls house and a bike, what shall we buy your mummy? Should we get her a nice pussy, or a dog? Do let me know and then I can save all my pennies. I can’t bring you a real camel because there is no sand in Luton (thank heaven) and where could we keep it – in the coal shed, or in the spare room? Thank you for all the kisses, Sebbie. Be sure and save me one for when I come home. Cheerio my sweetheart, kiss your mummy for me for me. A nice big one. Goodnight Darling, from Daddy. For you & Mummy xxxxxx
