Eating, smoking, dancing: saw "the Beaux Strategem" & "the Miller of Mansfield”, acted in a theatrical stable belonging to Mr. Ramsay. Extract from a newspaper account of Voltaire's story of the man in the iron mask. There follows an almost day by day journal of notable events to date of writing, with extracts from newspapers & magazines. lists of books published, births, marriages & deaths, plays, concerts, at great length & in a most minute hand Ends with some details of affairs in the Woburn area: Mr. Robert Ramsay senior has died in Oct: Bob has let the shop ….The remaining part of the abbey being pulled down …. they are rebuilding it with great spirit … Ben Post is clerk to a wholesale cooper by Shadwell Dock..
