... Pray take my silver knee buckles out of the desk & send down with the mustard book & the polished silver belonging to the opake part of the microscope. More books requested. The gentleman who lives at Crawley [Mr. Langston] …. imagines you are inclining to a consumption, & he being pretty famous for his cures obliged me to write of what he is almost certain would be of service to you, viz..: Take Fryers Balsam 2 ounces & conserve of roses, 2 ounces, make an electuary, take a large teaspoonful in the morning fasting, drink 1/2 pint of milk warm from the cow sweetened with sugar of roses, & ride about a mile after it; the same at four in the afternoon & If the stomach lbe empty at bedtime ..
