Scandal about Thomas How's affairs reported by Sarah Marriott when she returned from London where she had been staying in St. Paul's Churchyard : "Well but, said Frank Gibson, I hear he [Thomas How] has partly spent it [his fortune & estate], and added, I hear he has a mind to my cuzen Guly Briggins”; conversation with "the captain" who also lodged there. The maid servant that lives with them [Frank Gibson] came from Woburn & has given Frank Gibson all those hints of scandal that have been published from thence concerning you, but like a jade as she is, she proved treacherous to her mistress also ....
