Parties:
(i) Henry Hart Milman Dean of Saint Paul’ Cathedral London and the chapter;
(ii) Timothy Nugent Macnamara of Shirley near Southampton [Hampshire], esquire and William Strickland Cookson in Lincoln’s Inn [Middlesex], gentleman – trustees under the will of John Pedley, late of Caddington Hall [Hertfordshire], esquire, deceased
Operative Part:
- (ii) surrendered the former lease to Timothy Nugent Macnamara and Michael Clayton of the Manor of Caddington made on 18th August 1842
- (i) leased (a)-(f) to (i) for 21 years from 25th March 1856 at an annual rent of £16/4/8, £4/4/- for redeemed Land Tax, £15 and £22/15/6 for the Vicar of Caddington

- the patronage of the living of Caddington;
- standing timber;
- the Great Wood called Caddington Wood;
- liberty of ingress, egress and regress to carry off timber.
Covenants by (ii)
- to deliver to the Vicar of Caddington “four quarters of good, sweet and wholesome wheat and four quarters of good and sweet barley”;
- to repair and maintain the manor house and chancel of the parish church.
