- Scope and ContentWest Lilley: on 15 April, about 10am, he missed a meal pot from his cart at Kempston. A man by the name of Allen had ridden with him from Bedford. He went into the Quart Pot Public House for a few minutes, leaving the pot in the cart. The lid was not taken. George Cheney: he found the pot in the prisoner’s house in Kempston on 21 June. He took the prisoner into custody on the same day and told him the charge. The prisoner said he had found the pot in Dewberry’s garden as he went to set a snare.
