Receipt from Mr W Battson, Builder and Contractor, Cemetery Street, Biggleswade (Private Residence ‘Homeland’, Biggleswade), 13 Oct 1909. Received from Mr E P Jeakings £50 as part payment of the purchase of two dwelling houses now in the occupation of Mrs Bailey and Mr T Thornton, situate in Drove Road, Biggleswade. The remainder of the £690 purchase price to be paid the first week in November 1909. 5% interest to be charged if the remainder is not paid by the 6th November 1909.
JWBattson also agree to build a 9” brick wall on the South Side of the property at a height of 6’6” to be finished by 6 November 1909. Signed.
