Abstracting as follows:
10 Jun 1898: By copy Conditional Surrender Alexander Donald Fraser of Hyrish Lodge, New Barnet, Middlesex, Clerk in the Bank of England came before Thomas James Hooper, Gentleman and Steward of the Manor of Biggleswade Out of Court and, in consideration of a covenant made 10 Jul 1893 between Sarah Justin, wife of Alexander Donald Fraser(i) and Alexander Donald Fraser (ii) and Elizabeth Sarah Hooper of No.5 Adelaide Terrace, Illfracombe, Devon, spinster (iii), surrendered to the Lord of the Manor:
(a) Land with two cottages near the Anchor Inn, Biggleswade having a paved court in front on the S., bounded on the W. by property of W.Ekins, on the N. by property of the late Col.R H Lindsell, and on the E. by property of Nathaniel Garner. With joint use of well and pump.(To which premises Alexander Donald Fraser had been admitted tenant 24 Apr 1885).
Subject to a condition that on 10 Dec 1898 Alexander Donald Fraser pays to Elizabeth Sarah Hooper £340/5 together with interest from 10 Jul 1898.
Default was made in payment of the above and no interest payment has been made.
Operative part
On 6 Jul 1899 E J Hooper by W F A Fletcher her attorney was admitted tenant by Thomas James Hooper Steward Out of Court.(see Z 590/58)
