Leighton Buzzard Methodist Circuit
Admin/biog history
Initially Leighton Buzzard Wesleyan Circuit, created in 1812 from Bedford Wesleyan Circuit (MB1/BW). Following the 1932 merger between the Primitive and Wesleyan Methodist Churches churches in the Leighton Buzzard area formerly part of the Leighton Buzzard Primitive Circuit were incorporated into the former Wesleyan Circuit. In 1973 Leighton Buzzard amalmagated with Stewkley to form the Leighton Buzzard and Stewkley Circuit (MB1/LBS), which was later absorbed into the Chiltern Downs Circuit. Since 2010 the remaining Leighton Buzzard Circuit churches have been part of the South Bedfordshire Circuit (MB1/SB)
Founder members in 1812: Billington, Bletchley, Eaton Bray, Heath and Reach, Leighton Buzzard (Hockliffe Street), Slapton, Stanbridge, Stewkley, Stoke Hammond, Tilsworth, Water Eaton, Wing.
