The Lowndes Estate (Wilshamstead and Wootton, Bedfordshire)
The three estate books from which the following enlarged copies have been taken are all in the same format. They are 6¼" by 4¼" in size. They are bound in green leather with brass clasps. Each has gold lettering with "H.D.LOWNDES" on the front cover. On the spine, the books are marked separately as "BEDS" , "BUCKS" and "SOMERSET". The Bedfordshire book covers the estates at Wilhamstead and Wooton, the Buckinghamshire one relates to Broughton, and the Somerset volume begins with material on Compton Bishop (sold in 1841) but also contains some information on Wilstead.

Mitchell of Trehelig, New Road, Zeals, Warminster, Wiltshire, BA12 6NG in March 1996 from originals belonging to Mr. Michael Mitchell, Chemin des Chasseurs 10, 1380 Ohain, Belgium. Copies of the details for Buckinghamshire and Somerset have been sent to the appropriate County Record Offices
